1988 Nissan Maxima GXE review from North America
"The best car I have ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Water pump at 185,000.
Key-less entry keypad on driver's door at 200,000.
Alternator at 190,000.
General comments?
To this day, this has been the best car I have owned.
A pleasure to drive with lots of power, and a smooth shifting transmission.
I drove this car loaded with four adults, car top carrier with massive luggage weight, to the mountains for annual snow skiing trips, for five consecutive years. It handled the mountains and the extra weight like a champ.
Had the car up to 110 mph briefly.
This car was completely problem free, other than regularly scheduled oil changes and one tune-up at 80,000 miles, until it had over 180,000 miles on it.
