Water pump at 185,000.
Key-less entry keypad on driver's door at 200,000.
Alternator at 190,000.
To this day, this has been the best car I have owned.
A pleasure to drive with lots of power, and a smooth shifting transmission.
I drove this car loaded with four adults, car top carrier with massive luggage weight, to the mountains for annual snow skiing trips, for five consecutive years. It handled the mountains and the extra weight like a champ.
Had the car up to 110 mph briefly.
This car was completely problem free, other than regularly scheduled oil changes and one tune-up at 80,000 miles, until it had over 180,000 miles on it.
Did yours have a sunroof? Mine does and the dealer won't look at it, presumably because of its age, 20 years old. What should I do?
Hi, look in your yellow pages for auto sunroof or moonroof and call each business and maybe you might find one that might repair it for you, happy trails, bob.
This Maxima was easily the best car I've owned. BTW, I posted the original first comment. My Maxima was involuntarily retired due to the inattention of a 16-year-old kid who t-boned by baby. I nearly cried at this loss because this car was such an asset to me and rescued me at a desperate time in my life. At 21 years old, the car looked and ran perfectly well aside from routine maintenance. Literally, my only complaints were the sunroof issue and power steering, which constantly leaked. I commuted with the car 3 days a week 120 miles and it gave absolutely no trouble at all! Had I had the money at the time of my accident, I would've gladly paid any money to repair this car to its original condition. I ended up with a 2004 Nissan Sentra. The only things I like about this car is the gas mileage and the air conditioner. Aside from these, there is nothing outstanding or impressive about the car. The Maxima accelerated quickly and on a Texas Farm-to-Market road (two-lanes, no passing), I could easily pass up two cars moving too slowly. Now, I have to patiently await the cars to turn for fear of a head-on collision with the lacking in horsepower Sentra.
I pray to God I will be able to purchase the 2009 Maxima when I complete college.
