2000 Nissan Maxima review from North America
"The 2000 Nissan Maxima was not Nissan's proudest product"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This horrid car has had to have 4 coils replaced over the years, and now needs another replaced.
General comments?
The car is sputtering and stuttering because of this latest coil problem, which costs about $250.00 each replacement.
Nissan takes no responsibility for these sorry coils, even though they are now replacing with a "different kind of coil" my mechanic tells me. So I suspect the "old" coils were defective since my mechanic says the 2000 Nissan is known for the coils going bad. Nissan wishes to replace all 6 when replacement of only one is needed. Of course if I had spent the initial $800 to replace all 6, perhaps I would not be paying for them all on different occasions as they go. That tells me that Nissan knew the coils would be going bad.
