2000 Nissan Maxima SE review from North America
"My car is great. There are two sides to electronics: love the comfort and hate the price!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Light indicates problems with the coils. I called the dealer, and they told me that Nissan recommends that all 6 coils be replaced, because when one goes bad, the others tend to go right after. They also recommended I change all spark plugs (Note: I changed spark plugs less than a year ago).
The mechanic quoted me about $700.00, almost $500.00 in parts alone. Coils are about $70.00 a piece.
I just purchased the coils from a store on Ebay and paid $201.00, delivery included (Deutsche Parts USA).
General comments?
It pays to shop around. Now, I expect to have it all done for about $500-$550.
