1996 Nissan Maxima SE review from North America
"Can't go wrong with a Max"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I had a check engine light and the dealer asked me several times if ihad possibly got a hold of some bad gas. I didn't think that I had, so I said no. So they replaced the EGR valve and the knock sensor. It was more than 500 dollars and 2 weeks later the engine light came on again. So what I have noticed with this car, it seems to be very depnedent on premium fuel. At the time the gas prices were so high I was buying regular gas. Every time I fill up with regualr gas the check engine light comes on, all I have to do is run a tank of premium through it and the light goes out. I have also had problems finding a good set of tires of this car. Most tires have too soft of a feel. I am putting on a set of goodyears next week, I hope they work out.
General comments?
I have been very impressed with the speed of this car.
There are few cars that can keep up with the Maxima.
The cars handles very well and the breaking is more than satisfactory.
