1995 Nissan Maxima SE review from North America
"Fun, Reliable, Sexy, but can be costly"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My CV shaft cracked.
Fog light fell out - $200 bucks.
Left Oxygen Sensor - $400 bucks.
Left CV Shaft cracked.
Starter $400.
Electrical Air bag problem.
Scratches easily, especially the hood.
Had scheduled brake work done.
Back caliper rusted and made nasty screeching noise. Dealer replaced it from another Maxima.
Low motorcycle type noise, need a new exhaust system soon or maybe just muffler.
General comments?
This is my first car and I baby it, however I am a new college graduate and I don't alway have the money for the costly repairs. This is the problem I have with Nissan in addition too many mechanics because Nissan made the car so that a lot of after market parts will not be able to be put on them.
For the most part I can't complain too much because through all the problems, my Max has NEVER left me sranded anywhere and doing a lot of highway driving, that is my biggest fear. My max zooms past many newer more luxurious cars all the time. The best thing is that you see so many same body types on the road, so even though my Max is ten years old, it really doesn't seem like it.
