2000 Nissan Maxima GLX review from North America

I've have had this car for 2years, it is a 2000 Maxima with 44,500miles on it currently. For the first time on Christmas eve, the engine light came on and the car began to shudder severely. I have an appointment tomorrow in the a.m. to take to the dealer. Needless, to say with this website being a good resource I have some idea of how what to expect regarding the problem and the costs, although I'm extremely annoyed at the prospect of spending at least 500.00. I have notified the Nissan office of North America to alert them to this problem and to find out, why if this is a prevalent issue with this year and model car, is it still on the market? The Customer Care person asked me, "What do you want Nissan to do?" Duh, I'm thinking, though my response was I'm a consumer, what you should be figuring out is what you can do for me. I'm in the medical field and as such or as anyone who works, I NEED a reliable vehicle. I AM NOT GOING TO SPEND ALMOST A THOUSAND DOLLARS ON A VEHICLE, which may as well be a down payment on another car.

Other than this recent problem with the engine light and shuddering, the car has been everything I've expected. I love my Nissan Maxima, but if the Nissan dealer, company and I cannot come to some resolution other than,I dumping out a good sum of money for repairs, than I'm afraid I will have to try another brand of car. I would hate for my relationship with Nissan to end on a sour note, the best/worst advertising for any company is via word of mouth.
