2000 Nissan Micra Celebration review from UK and Ireland

Nothing as yet, besides the window winder coming off in my hand, and the plastic side covers on the front seats falling apart!

a problem i had with my first Micra Too

The 2000 Celebration Model not only looks Smart, it really is a cracking little car. Sunroof, Power Steering, Alloys,Rear hatch spoiler, all standard on this one, pretty good spec for a 1.L town car.

It does have some downsides though, that I feel are only fair to pass on:

On both my Micras, I have found that this car seems to eat front Tyres! they wear out amazingly quickly.

Also, please check your tyre pressures monthly on these cars, mine always seem to lose a few PSI every time I look (also a phenomena I had on my old model)

The seals on the doors and windows are also pretty naff, now that we have winter coming, I find that the windows sometimes also need de-icing on the inside too, and the doors seem to retain moisture as well!

Saying that, the heaters work really great on Micras.

It is not easy for me to criticise this car, my first basic 1993 L model was a loyal servant for 4 years, and started first turn every day, even on the day the scrapman drove it away!

My last Micra was 14 years old, when I finally let her go, still looked good, and had it been RHD, I might have been tempted to save it, I just hope the Celebration will last as long! reckon the odds are pretty good!

In conclusion, I just wanted to say to any potential first time buyer of a Nissan Micra, please buy one! or at least test drive one, they are the best value small car on the market.

After 1997, (power steering became standard) a joy to drive easy to park and incredibly cheap to run.
