2006 Nissan Murano SL review from North America

Major oil leak on delivery of the car.

After three weeks of ownership I have been to the Nissan Dealership about 6 times. Once to ask about the burning smell that I was noticing starting with the first night I came home with the car, I noticed a smog in the headlights, I was told that it was only the Catalytic converter. (two more times to have the missing splash flaps installed) Well I then noticed oil in my driveway so I checked it out and found a major oil drip coming down on the exhaust pipes resulting in the burning smell. It took 3 trips to the dealer before they determined the problem. Oil was running out of a seal between the engine and transmission. They completely tore the engine bay apart to get at the seal, 12 days later they informed me that the car was ready to be picked up. I am refusing to accept this car as it was faulty from day one and this problem should have been detected with the $1314 freight and PDI that I paid. Needles to say I would not have accepted the car day one if I new that it was leaking oil. I want Nissan to replace the car for me with one that is new and not rebuild. Nissan say they will meet with me 10 days from now to discuss the problem. Well I will do without my car for another 10 days just to make my point that I am insisting on a new car for new car money. I will keep you informed with their decision.
