1995 Nissan Pathfinder XE-V6 review from North America
"A reliable and practical suv"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing much. Car is reliable for the most part.
General comments?
The Pathfinder is a pretty solid SUV with lots of structural integrity and stolid reliability. Performance wise, the car is mediocre. The engine is rated at 153hp which is not very powerful considering the Pathfinder isn't a very light automobile. The transmission is OK, but sometimes it takes a while for it to downshift when it needs more power and by the same token takes long to upshift when the gear is about to fry. The kickdowns are very jarring, especially uphill. My only other complaint is that the Pathfinder is not asthetically appealling. I would rather drive a lux-sports sedan such as an Audi A4 or Lexus IS300, because they suit my driving style a lot better than the Pathfinder or any other SUV. But the Pathfinder does take a lot because it has to put up with my driving and I do drive it hard.
