Things gone awry...
The truck rattles on startup, but has done this since day one.
The A/C compressor needed changing 2x (makes really loud squeal when the A/C is on).
Truck ran hot, hose needed replacing.
I got this truck from my mom when my GMC Jimmy died, it has been a road dog... I drove it to and from Houston to br over 12 times, always on vacation, always anywhere!!
I love green, she is a emerald of a truck... anytime I let anyone borrow her they always try to keep her...
She is fast on acceleration (with the A/C off) and is always ready to ride.
I have not one time had a day that she wouldn't start... this has been my favorite vehicle on the planet. I don't know what Nissan was thinking when they made this model, but they should have never stopped!!!
I ran into someone doing about 35, never broke the headlights...
I wouldn't trade her for anything! 12 years 203k and still kicking!!!

I have a 1996 Hardbody XE 4 cylinder, when it started rattling on start up (sounding almost like a machine gun) I replaced the timing chain and found the slack guide was broken. That sounds like what is happening to yours.
