1989 Nissan Pulsar review from Australia and New Zealand

"AWESOME beast that won't die in a hurry! :)"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I bought my 1989 1.8lt Nissan Pulsar 5dr Hatch from a dealer, the 1st problem was my gearbox, well at 183000 kms I'd expect that I suppose, basically a cross between Oil & thrust bearing. but I dealt with dodgy dealers so it's to be expected :|

Problem 2... is my electric mirrors, it's creating a short in my fuse box, but I have a feeling it's because it got side swiped & the polarities got switched when it got fixed up. :|

I have realised that the car is a little loose in corners in 2nd hand condition, nuffin that can't be fixed tho. :)

General comments?

The Pulsar goes hard, its beasty in the 1.8lt 5spd manual, I'm lovin the drive of it... even if it is 2nd hand.

Has a nice close gear ratio, which is good if you wanna blow people off at the lights & get to your higher speeds a little quicker... Great for Melbourne driving or if you're a lead foot like me :)

I also have recently found out by my local exhaust guy that it has factory extractors, so all I need 4 a little more horse power is a 2->2 1/4 inch sport exhaust for $240 fitted... Very kewl :)

Awesome car for cruisin', comfy seats, cross between race seats & a recliner, VERY CoMFY!

The factory kit looks cute, but cool at the same time with the rear spoiler that completes a factory sporty look without going overboard.

Parts are easy to find, reasonably priced, pays to shop around tho..

Fuel is good, you get a good distance out of it; bear in mind I have only had mine for a week and a half as of today 24/10/2008... every day after work I look forward to taking it for a nice long afternoon drive. :D.

Overall summary, the car is beautiful to drive, seats are comfy as, gear shifting is smooth as silk, easy to maintain, parts easily accessible, put a good exhaust tip on and she sounds niiiice...

Very happy buyer 10/10 AWESOME CAR!
