2002 Nissan Sentra GXE 1.8 litre from North America

Summary:

Best car I have ever owned

Faults:

I have not had any problems with my Sentra at all.

The brakes could be a bit stronger, they start to fade quickly with a few high speed stops.

General Comments:

I love my Sentra and plan on keeping it for a very long time. It still runs great, in fact I had it up to 185 km/hr two weeks ago.

It doesn't use any oil, it feels great on the road. I highly recommend this car to anyone. I have beaten Civics, Mazda 3's, V6 Mustangs, and pick up trucks.

I regularly cruise at 140 to 150 km/hr and still get 30 mpg. It is a great car. It has never let me down and I drive it every day.

2002 Nissan Sentra GXE 1.8L from North America

Summary:

Great car, really reliable great on gas. I would recommend this car to everyone

Faults:

When I first purchased the car, I had to replace the front brakes and rotors from common wear.

Both engine belts.

About six months after I had the car, I had to replace the battery because it wouldn't hold a charge any more.

General Comments:

Since I've had the car, I put a header on it, a whole new exhaust with a new muffler, and a true cold air intake.

When I replaced the stock exhaust manifold with the header, the manifold had a built in catalytic converter, which had 2 O2 sensors in it, and the manifold itself had 2 O2 sensors in it. Since the header doesn't have a cat in it, when I put all the sensors back in, it threw a code because the cat wasn't there anymore. So now that it is throwing a code when you crank the car up. Sometimes it idles roughly, but if you rev it up to around 3 or 4 thousand rpms, the engine will smooth out.

Overall, the car has a decent amount of power. It climbs hills and passes people pretty well. It also gets great gas mileage, around 36 mpg.

I've replaced other things on the car since I've had it, but only required maintenance things like plugs, wires, oil, etc. I just wish I could get it to stop idling weird when I crank it up.

Overall I think it's a great car. If I were to ever buy another one, I would go with the SE-R model though; bigger engine with more power and a lot more accessories. Or I just might replace the 1.8L engine when it finally goes out with a sr20 engine. They also make plenty of accessories for it too. Plus it has about 30 more horsepower stock than the 1.8L engine does.

2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V 2.5 from North America

Summary:

Quick little sleeper that just keeps on running

Faults:

Crankshaft position sensor.

Overhead console.

General Comments:

This was my first car I purchased brand new, and I can say nothing bad about it. I've had only minor things go wrong with the car (crankshaft position sensor), but that was covered under warranty.

The overhead console just fell out.

I think if you keep up on general maintenance, and do not beat up on the SE-R, it should serve you for a long time.

Summary:

Reliable budget car with decent power!

Faults:

Had to change the front rotors twice in 50,000 miles.

General Comments:

Car is reliable without any major problems with proper scheduled maintenance.

Good response and pickup.

The interior is not best built, and the assembly is a bit shoddy.

Suspension is a bit hard.

2002 Nissan Sentra GXE 1.8L gas from North America

Summary:

Great car for the price

Faults:

Check Engine Light comes on during the winter. Checked the code with a scanner, comes up temperature is below operating level or something along that line. It goes off when it get warm out.

Alternator went out around 103K. Got a used one for cheap and it works great now.

The headliner sucks. In the back it is not attached well to the roof, and is starting to sag down.

Stereo barely works. The radio does not get loud enough to hear, but the CD player works fine. Sometimes the right side speakers will cut out.

General Comments:

The car is a great car.

I am 6'4" and can fit into it. Although there is no room behind me in the back seat. The back seats are not made for adults.

The MPG ranges from 26-39 depending on traffic, driving style and time of the year (gas is worse in the winter).
