1993 Nissan Sentra XE review from North America

A/c compressor 90k

radiator hose 100k (cheap fix like $6)

cv joints 120k ($150 done at the shop)

water pump 138k (diy cost ~$300)

alternator 140k

starter (followed) 140k.

More efficient than a Prius.

Since I've purchased the car I've had quite a few repairs to do when things have been fixed. But that's over the course of 5 years for an already 11+ year old car.

However it's at 151k right now and running really good, I keep the interior clean and it's gotten me around the state quite reliably. Not exactly the most comfortable ride out there, but the high efficiency makes it really affordable to get to far places. Without the a/c on I can avg 37mpg with it on its around 32mpg.

I'll probably drive this thing till it's in need of a major repair above the value of itself. Not sure if the new sentra's or 2000+ models are too reliable. I will probably go with a good condition used honda or maybe a later model infiniti G20.

I bought this car for $1000 + around $1400 in repairs, so essentially it's only costs $1.31 a day to own. If I only drove around the city, then car insurance would probably be the highest expense.

If you see a good running used one and are crafty at touching things up it can definitely make a nice economical car.
