2001 Nissan Sentra GXE review from North America
"Lemon, lemon, lemon"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Everything you can imagine has gone wrong with this Nissan car.
I bought a 2000 Toyota brand new and had only 1 recall for a minor issue "headlight bracket". The Nissan has had 7 recalls to date, most of which can result in the vehicle crashing.
This is by far the worst vehicle I have ever owned.
Customer service is awful; they give you the run around, never return calls as promised. I've sunk a lot of money in this lemon, but I chalk it up as a lesson learned. I will never purchase another Nissan, nor will I ever recommend Nissan to anyone else.
With the number of complaints out there on this vehicle, I can't believe the safety board has not forced Nissan to recall this whole model year. I drive my 94 Mazda to work every day, because I drive 120 miles per day at speeds of 75 MPH, and I don't trust my Nissan for that situation.
Advice to other consumers: don't think every foreign car is better than American. Research every car model in the range you are looking at for negative feedback from real consumers.
