Door squeaks, and the dashboard makes weird low noises.
Relatively poor suspension.
Very reliable car...
Legroom is acceptable...
Very stable car, even at high speeds...
Way to go!
I also owned a Sept 2008 Nissan Sentra and I found it very enjoyable drive.
Though some plastic dashboard rattles have been heard, I found no fault in it. Some complaints about road noise, but I totally disagree since I also drove the Corolla and Civic, which I found to be more noisier than the Sentra.
Reliability is tactfully established with Nissan quality vs my 1997 Mitsu Lancer that overheated after 7k kms at the Odo.
So far, I did a 150kph around 3.5krpm, which is surprising for a 1.3L "comfortable" sedan, unlike those cramped Vios and City's.
I got my Sentra GX last July 2008. It's only been a year, but I've already logged 30,000kms on it.
Except for the seemingly hard shock absorber, I find it a better car than those of the other brands.
It's a very stable car, even at high speed. I already did try it at 160kph.
Fuel consumption is greatly competitive with other brands of its class. I'm doing 12km/liter in the city and 17-19 on out of town trips.
After a year and 30,000kms, it still performs like brand new.
From Jeddus Maximus: I also own a 2009 Nissan Sentra 1.3 GX AT, and I concur that it is pretty stable at high speeds (150 kmh). Although it is a bit slow when going through inclined roads... maybe because it was automatic, but hey some AT cars don't experience that. I still think it's unacceptable. Major fault would be its big body in a small engine (1.3).
I was lucky to get Sentra GX rather than VIOS E/J because of its wide body (more like of an Altis). Vios and City looks very compact unlike this car. The trademark air conditioning of Nissan is also installed in this vehicle, which for non-Nissan owners info, one of the best! Plus, this is the most affordable AT in its class comprised of Vios, City and Lancer.
If you were to buy this car, you should think about your priorities. Other choices are the 3 mentioned above (and also Aveo). For me, it's more the appearance that helped me make the decision.
