1987 Nissan Sentra XE review from North America
"Cheap, reliable, noisy, and economical all the way"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Ball joint.
Terminals.
Rusty muffler (free).
Bushings were changed.
Water pump (I got it for $21, made in Japan, damn that was cheap).
Head gasket ($10 Felpro).
Dash cracked (yeah, after 25 yrs under that damn hot Caribbean sun).
Nothing bad really.. just the usual maintenance, and the parts are so damn cheap and very reliable.
General comments?
It was very comfortable drive, although it made lots of noise, it never left me on the road, engine doesn't smoke, trans shifted beautifully... it was a great first car... yeah it was until I sold it for no f****ng reason at all... it hurt me like hell, I miss it... well we gotta keep living.
If you're looking to buy it, watch out for leaks, oh and don't worry, it has great gas mileage, although it doesn't have much power... I've never had problem going up hills with the car loaded...
