1995 Nissan Sentra XE review from North America

At 59,000 miles, the power tran had to be replaced. Fortunately, it was still under warranty.

After owning it for two years, I had to replace the front brakes because a large chunk of the metal was taken out of the rotor on the driver side. At the same time, I replaced the tires because of a bubble on the inside of the tire on the front driver side. And I replaced the front driver side CV Boot, which was torn.

At about 80,000 miles, I had to replace the thermostat.

At about 95,000 miles, I had to replace the front driver side CV Boot again because it was torn.

At about 100,000 miles the timing chain broke. That cost me about $200 to fix.

At 102,000 miles I had to fix the inner front tie rods, replaced the battery and the starter also went out. A rebuilt starter was put in and a month later burned out. Another starter was put in and it burned out two days later. The mechanic is now putting in a actual Nissan starter to see if that will fix the problem. I hope it will.

Also, I know my back brakes are getting bad and I will probably have to fix them in 6 to 12 months. The car will be at about 103,500 miles by then.

Sometime in the past couple of years (20,000 miles) the radio led won't work.

I really fell in love with this car when I bought it. It has been a great little car.

There isn't much leg room and not as much trunk space as I would like. But it gets me around.

It's generally been reliable. It seems like most of the breakdowns have been in the last 20,000 miles.

I've replaced the spark plugs and there was a recall on a clip on the window wipers which the dealer fixed.
