1994 Nissan Sentra SE review from North America
"Tiny car, big reliability"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The brakes were done three years ago.
The first set of new tires were put on after 9.5 years on the original set.
Rear bumper has been replaced and front end had some work after two accidents.
Currently there is a torn CV boot and a seized lug nut on one wheel, plus leaks in the front (water puddles on the floor by the front passenger seat) and the trunk.
General comments?
While not very fast, this car is good for the daily commute. It takes its time getting up to speed, but once there it handles well.
This car has almost always started right away, even though it has never seen a garage. Recently (closing in on its 11th birthday mind you) it is getting fussy about starting in the cold, but that is remedied by opening the throttle to compensate for its dumping excessive fuel in the engine in the cold. The only other time it refused to start was because it was desperately in need of a tune up.
This car spent 9 years driven in the neighborhood, never more than 5 miles. When it suddenly was required to make a 20 mile daily round trip commute, the only thing that changed was time between fueling (from 4 weeks to 1-2 weeks).
This car shows signs of making it to its 20th birthday still in great shape!
