2002 Nissan Sentra GXE review from North America
"A good car for the money despite some flaws"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The car is dependable, but the following has occurred during my ownership of the vehicle.
1. Not once, but twice my spark plugs blew on me during the most coldest winter days.
2. One of the oxygen sensors are now defective.
3. Car had to be sent in to repair a recall for a defective crankshaft.
4. Radiator hose ruptured recently, but was only 100$ including labor.
5. sentras over the years, have had some squeaky belts during wet, rainy days.
General comments?
The car has some decent pick-up power. The little 1.8 litre engine is fairly responsive and cruises very well on the
highway.
Gas consumption is good, but I recommend putting in 89 octane because you get better performance on any road, you squeeze more mileage out of a full tank, and it's healthier for the engine.
The interior is good, but in comparison to the Mazda Protege that
I test drove, it wasn't as much.
I test drove this and thoroughly compared it to the Mazda Protege and
picked this because it was a little cheaper per month and we owned a sentra in the past that lasted us a good ten years before getting rid of it. The Protege, on the other hand, seemed a better car, to be honest.
