1992 Nissan Skyline GXE review from Australia and New Zealand
"Excellent safe performer, but thirsty"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Considering this was a ex-rental Avis lease vehicle very little.
Heavy shifting into 2 gear caused loss of traction in wet weather and corners, possible caused by pervious bad drivers.
Battery cable came loose from chassis.
Power steering filter clogged causing a hose to burst.
Continued whining and leaking from power steering and other hoses.
Air conditioning has always been poor.
Carpet is hard to clean due to it's fibrous nature.
Suspension replaced due to age and is now in need of replacement again.
Poor fuel consumption around town.
General comments?
This station wagon is a heavy vehicle and gives you a real feel of safty.
Brakes very well if speed is less than 80kmh.
Lots of power, but too easy to loose traction when you are heavy footed and have a lite load.
Handling is excellent, I have avoided 3 sure accidents.
Excellent fuel consumption on long trips.
