Some interior fell off within a week of having the car!
One word...FUN
This car came from Andy Middlehurst Motorsport, it wasn't an import. Forget the standard BHP, get the 330bhp package straight away. Any more BHP and it voids the warranty.
Great pull off, great brakes. You just can't lose the backend, it just can't be done! Although the car does understeer heavily when pushing hard into a corner.
You can't lose the back end??? I think you should try a little bit harder!!! All my gtr does is go sideways (that's rear wheel drive bias for ya)
The car that defines the phrase "TURBO LAG". Over-rated, under powered and a myth that is easily wasted. Glad to get shut of the jumped up Bluebird!!
The above commenter is quite correct. I test drove a skyline, MR2 turbo and an E30 BMW M3. I now own an MR2 Turbo. The 13yr old BM felt faster than the Skyline, and was definitely more rewarding. The MR2 was miles better to drive, quicker off the mark and just better looking. Skyline felt like a shagged old cossie, but with worse traction.

The skyline doesn't get fun until its a 600hp daily driver.
I can't understand what you guys are saying. I have driven an R33 GTR, an M3 and a Makinen Evo VI and cannot believe your thoughts. I had the opportunity to drive them at a racetrack here in Australia and found that the GTR was far superior than both the others. It wasn't a great deal faster than the M3 on their respective fastest laps, but the GTR was more enjoyable, and easier to drive on the limit. I had 10 laps within a second of my fastest in the GTR, but only 4 in the M3, after the same amount of time in each car.
The problems are that the standard exhaust/downpipes and dump valve DO give turbo lag. My previous GTS was much faster off the mark than the GTR Vspec I have now, but the GTS had after market exhaust and dump valves. They don't give massive BHP increase, but they significantly reduce turbo lag.
Once that's out of the way, you can burn off most things. Even as standard, once you've hit 20Mph and the turbos really click in you can floor it round corners, but you CAN loose it if you try hard enough - but you really need to floor it around 90 degree bends.
Obviously, if you don't keep your foot on the floor the torque balance system is lost and makes the car unstable - so make sure you drive it properly!

The Nissan Skyline is the most desireable sports car to come out of Japan.
It has one of the best-engineered engines; the 'RB' in the world.
My mates Skyline just hit 460,000km.
The RB26DETT or GTR engine actually produces 330HP standard on some models! However due to Japanese 'Gentlemans Aggreement' performance had to be restricted.
There is truely no greater sportscar in my eyes; affordable and fast. Forget Mitsubishi Evo and Subaru WRX that break down far too often.
The Skyline has a true engine and a true heritage.
The Skyline does produce 330hp out the box, they say 280hp to stick to the handshake. But really they put out 330hp, I've seen a standard clean GTR put out near that on a dyno.
Spend a few quid and beat the M3, spend a lot of money and get 700hp, my mate has a GTR and he spent loads getting 700hp, and it`s mental, lags like hell, an equal powered super car will destroy it even though they have the same hp, its quite heavy, 4wd, big engine, twin turbos and all that extra pipe work inter coolers add up.
It's still a beast, but people buy one thinking yeah I`m gonna get big BHP out of this, and then realize you have to spend like £30.000 to get big bhp, and the car costs and insurance.
I would say an Evo, a Scooby or GT4, may be more fun and cheaper, a Porsche might look better and be more complete as a car, if you want big hp, you could get a Ferrari for the same price (355), but for some reason I would still get the GTR, it's just a beast.
If you want a thousand bhp, a Veyron will cost a million quid, the only other option to have safe BHP in the thousand mark is the Skyline, pick one up on ebay sometimes straight from Japan with monster BHP, if I had the cash I would.
