1987 Nissan Stanza GXE review from North America
"Another super reliable car from Nissan, will get you over 300,000 kms"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Valve stem seals degraded, caused blue smoke from exhaust.
A/C hose became porous and leaked out R12. Just needed rubber hose from compressor.
I replaced the cracked valve seals myself in about an hour and a half. Cost: $45 NOTE: Buy seals from Nissan ONLY. First ones I bought lasted a month; Nissan seals never failed, even with the car now over 300,000 KMS.
General comments?
Awesome, comfortable car, trouble free, rides like a much larger car.
As with all other cars, keep up with oil changes and maintenance.
Power is adequate for an economy car. Manual trans axle would help there.
Automatic transmission is the best I have seen out of any 4 cylinder car; Shifts flawlessly, overdrive button works. Never required any work since new.
