2004 Nissan X-Trail 2.0dci review from UK and Ireland
"Loved it, but sounds unreliable and costly in the long run"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
AS in previous comments - Inter cooler replaced under warranty - oil leak (or alike) caused the engine to be splattered in oily-stuff. Not happy & took it back - still not very clean.
This weekend - Clutch has completely warn out - 1st time I needed 'off-road' capability & had to be towed off a slightly muddy field - only to have to be rescued & brought home on a low loader! Nissan garage say it is wear & tear & are asking for £750.
(40,000 miles - never towed & 30 miles round trip on a daily basis) they are having a laugh.
Question : when does a design or recurring problem become a recall issue? I asked Nissan & they had no other references to clutch problems in their database! oh yeh!
General comments?
Before this weekend - love the car - fun to drive & reliable
Now - No way - reading the comments the quicker I can get rid the cheaper it will be!
I bought it for towing a caravan - glad I haven't yet!
