"An excellent off roader"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing!

General comments?

We received this car as a replacement for our 2002 SVE primera which was in a nutshell appalling!

The car looks really nice and purposeful, especially with those fat alloy wheels.

The cream leather interior is really sumptuous.

The "bird-view" satellite navigation comes out of the stereo electrically which looks very good and it hides away when not in use- A good theft-deterrent!

The Engine is very smooth with an excellent torque curve.

The 330ml can coolers in the dash are an excellent touch.

The stero is nice and is a bit better than our old '02 primera, it also has a 6-cd in dash changer.

All in all this car is superb!

I disagree I've owned my Xtrail for the past 7 months and have done numerous long trips, including some light 4WDriving and have experienced no problems. Performs great, delivers great fuel economy, heaps of interior space and overall great value for money. I own the Australian spec model. The only thing I don't like is the interior plastics tend to scratch easily.

I have the 2 litre petrol SE and am very happy with it. I agree it is very comfortable and the engine pulls well, especially in view of the size of the vehicle. Motor magazines said the petrol engine was noisy at motorway speeds, but this is rubbish. It cruises at 85 mph plus very quietly, rides very comfortably and feels as solid as my previous car, a Volvo estate. I did test drive a diesel, but found it very noisy and bought the petrol model without even testing one - I was very pleased that it has turned out so well! I agree that the internal plastics are of surprisingly poor quality and mark very easily - a silly mistake on an otherwise highly desirable car.

The Nissan X Trail is a good looking SUV. I believe it is at the forefront of this class.

We've owned our 2.2diesel Sport for 6months and it's been the best time we've ever had with a new car. Fuel economy is excellent, no problems with the car whatsoever. Comfort, performance, plenty of space - it's got everything anyone could ask for. No prizes for guessing what our next car will be!!

I've been surfing the net to find more information about the X-Trail because I'm considering buying an SUV and comparing a few makes. Thanks to this page, my decision to get the X-Trail 2.5L is almost certain!
