Right-Hand mirror not Painted well
(still has not been replace by Nissan)
This car is a great family car as well as a Sports and 4x4 all in one.
I recently had twins and with a 2 year old kid I needed a car that had plenty
of space, in say this I mean that it had to fit three baby seats side by side.
I tried many cars in it's price rang.
But let me tell you that the x-trail
had the lot. Powerful 2.5lt Petrol engine with 132kw of power, space for the three baby seats and a great look for a sports and family car.
The best thing about this car it has all 4x4 and in auto mode when its wet it takes off like a WRX sticking to the road. However when you are stop on a hill the transmission only on Auto dose not hold the car in place and falls back if you take your foot off the brake, which I think is a fault in the Design.
Very good.
Gday,
About the hill holding thing; all Nissans don't hold on hills, cause the idle speed is set too low at around 600rpm. Get it turned up to about 900 1000rpm and they hold no worries.
Regarding the Nissan X-Trail not holding on hills on the idle, that's not what the idle's for. Mine does on a slight slope anyway, but why not use the brakes?
Nissan X-Trail Diesel 57 plate engine knock from cold.
Well everyone, the cold start knock has reared its ugly head again... Took the car into local Nissan Dealer as it's still under warranty, and they kept it overnight so they could start it up from cold in the morning... I arrived later in the day and was told there was a slight knocking, but that was just engine noise and nothing to worry about...
On speaking to the service guy, I asked him had he taken the car for a run from cold... no was the reply, we just started it up here in the car park... I said you **** Head you won't hear any abnormal noise unless you put the engine under load by way of driving it!... well would you like to come round tomorrow morning and take it for a run and I'll see if I can hear the noise you are talking about... OK I said!... Next morning 8am we go for a drive with a stone cold engine and sure enough Knock, Knock, Knock,... OH! I can hear the noise now, it wasn't making that noise yesterday when we tried it... No because you didn't take it for a run you plonker!!!...
Any way, cutting a long story short, they replaced one injector last year, and after I got on to Nissan customer Services and logged a complaint, the garage has just told me this morning that they (and Nissan UK) have agreed to replace the rest of the injectors (all 3) and they want the car back in next week...
So everyone I was right, it seems last year when I said that it was the injector that was at fault and when they replaced number 3 injector, the noise went away... There is, and I'm sure Nissan know that there is a problem with the DENSO injectors that are in the X-Trail's. They are CRAP!...
So all you people with knocking engines on start up from cold, take the car back and insist on new injectors before the warranty runs out, or if you have to pay for them yourself, they are £486 each! (If this is modern technology, then it's gone wrong or I'm getting too old to understand it all) Give me the old fashioned Bosch injector any day!
