1970 Oldsmobile 98 Convertible from North America - Comments

"I always called it The Great White Whale. What more can I say?"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The Uniroyal fiberglass-belted tires wore out with sever cupping within 8,000 miles.

After 30 years, a storage site moved the car outside without letting me know, animals destroyed the top, and it pretty much rotted away. Sadly, the car was junked.

General comments?

The 1970 Oldsmobile Convertible was the last truly great Oldsmobile and the last truly great car I will ever own. I purchased the car as new in October of 1969 after GM had loaned it to a group for a convention and parade in Des Moines, Iowa. I thought Olds 98 fans might appreciate seeing the data from the window sticker.

As for me I personally thought the last great era of the Oldsmobiles was the last of the big giant ones, I thought Oldsmobiles went down the drain after they've started downsizing their vehicles in the late 1970s.
