1998 Oldsmobile 98 review from North America

I noticed a sound when I am driving, like the tire is rubbing against something. I'm not sure if it is tie rods or the tires needing rotation and balancing. It does need an alignment. Front tires shake after 60 mph.

Someone told me the gaskets will go if you don't keep oil in it. One day I was driving and the car began accelerating, even when I put it in park it would keep revving up. The check engine light came on. I popped the hood and the motor was running real hot. I checked the oil and it was low. These cars let you know when there is a problem. Went to the gas station and put in 2 quarts of oil. Problem went away. I stress, check your fluids or be on the side of the road with more problems.

Car is large, has heated seats and the motor runs very good. Cruises very smooth and the ride is similar to a Cadillac. The handling is not stiff and requires little maintenance as far as I know. I bought the car for two grand off a car lot in Bloomington, MN. The trunk is large, perfect for throwing junk in there or 12" inch woofers.

I plan on tinting the windows, painting it black, and putting some nice 3 blade rims on it. You get 29 mpg on the highway, I drive it everywhere.

I recommend this car to anyone who wants a reliable Olds. This was the last year that the 98/Regency were made.
