1980 Oldsmobile 98 Regency review from Iceland

The usual little rust spots, will fix those sometime soon. The left rear door will have to be rebuilt though (damage not visible from the outside), but the car is otherwise practically rust-free. Looks damn gorgeous.

Had to replace rear shock absorbers, luckily my brother had a couple we could use.

A few electronic problems, e.g. the driver seat doesn't respond well and the interior lights are acting up a bit. Will be fixed as soon as possible.

The speedometer is busted, which is a bit of a problem when you're trying to save gas by driving slowly. Ahhh... but who really cares, it's a lot more fun just to hit the gas. Besides, my brother will fix it.

My first car, and what a CAR. It truly is seriously good looking.

The 307ci isn't a monster, but it has enough torque to pull this almost 2 ton yacht up steep hills without losing speed. A smooth engine with adequate power, but nothing more than that. I kinda want to replace the 307ci, but I'm not exactly rolling in cash at the moment.

Handling is superb, even though the car is huge it's extremely easy to handle when your in the city (at least until you have to find a parking space) and once you get out of the city you just sit back and cruise, 80 mph feels more like 60.

Huge trunk space, but the hood and trunk are so long and the doors are so thick that interior space isn't really all that great. But the seats are so insanely comfortable that I couldn't care less.

Paid the equivalent of about 2500 bucks for it cause everything is so damn expensive here, but I'm not likely to regret it anytime soon.

I'm never going to let this beauty go...
