1990 Oldsmobile 98 Brougham Edition review from North America
"Big, sleek, cruise-mobile"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The following happened over the course of 6+ years:
Alternator went.
Whole set of brakes.
Fuel injectors clogged up real bad (my fault)
Rear driver side window (shot out with BB gun by some &*#%$@!!!)
Transmission got a little silly on steep hills.
Battery died.
Some of the trim fell off/got ripped off.
General comments?
As my first car, it was a great ride for being young in. A smooth, sexy cruising machine with some muscle at higher speeds. This thing rode like a boat on calm seas and till I sold it never burned a drop of oil between changes. Most maintenance was either a direct result of my stupidity or parts wearing down over time.
Comfortably holds 5, big and safe, a tank in the snow. I only sold it because gas was getting a little pricey and I had promised myself I would learn to drive manual transmission over the summer. I miss this car more than I miss most people. Also, it looks great in black, like a Towncar's little brother.
