1994 Oldsmobile Achieva S review from North America
"A terrific car with lousy airconditioning!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Air conditioning went in 1997 - repaired for $250 - lasted one month - ultimately told I needed a new evaporator core, condensor, and compressor. I said forget it - and had a sunroof installed.
Alternator at 120,000 kms - $250.
Rubber bushings for the front suspension at 110,000 kms - $250.
General comments?
Except for the rotten airconditioning, this is a terrific car - solid, powerful, very rust resistant. To me it is part sports car (full instrumentation - not just a tach but oil pressure, volts, temp etc.), part luxury car. It is a little cramped leg room wise, and it has a massive turning circle. But, it is a wonderful car that has aged very very well!
