1994 Oldsmobile Achieva S review from North America
"Very quick and powerful, a great all-around car!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I have not had very many/significant problems with my '94 Achieva. I can say that it is a very quick and reliable car!
The first problem I had was a slight whining/squeaking from the front drivers side. It turned out to be that the brake caliper was stuck on the rotor and wore down the brake pads. It then began to grind really bad before I could get it to the repair shop. The cost of the total repair; caliper, rotor, and pads was about $85.00 with a $40 service fee.
Just recently I have encountered a more complex problem. The tail lights and instrument panel lights do not illuminate when the headlights are turned on. The problem is said to be in the headlight switch. This repair was estimated to cost $120 plus a $40 service fee.
General comments?
The car overall is very nice. I was commenting to my parents about getting me a smaller/compact car after I totaled my last one.
The front seats are very comfortable and adjustable. But, the back seats are very cramped on leg room.
A spacious trunk, plenty of room for equipment and other items.
