"206,000 miles,still saving me money"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Transmission replaced at 105,000, 3 fuel pump replacements last 100,000 miles,3 turn signal switches. replaced belt tensioner at 130,000.

General comments?

206,000 miles and still going strong, engine burns no oil still gets about 30 mpg on highway, only major repair was a transmission rebuild at 105,000 $700.I have had problems with the fuel pump replaced 3 times last 100,000 miles & the turn signal switch seems to be defective replaced 3 times at a cost of $75, other wise this has been a very dependable vehicle, I think I can get at least another 50,000 miles out of it.

I currently own a 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera that has been almost trouble free the 8 years I've had it.

The automatic windows don't work anymore so I just went to the junkyard to buy doors with the manual windows.

I really like Oldsmobiles and I am looking for an Acheiva because I like the sporty good looks.

Seems like they are hard to find... but hoping to find one soon.

I'm glad you have a good car!

Another one of those domestic car drivers that say the car is so dependable and reliable, how reliable can it be when the tranny goes out so fast, and 3 fuel pumps in 100,000 miles hmmmmm doesn't sound too dependable to me, ya and you can't open the windows or lock the doors on these things so that's a good thing too I guess to you domestic car drivers, I thaught power locks and windows were supposed to open at a push of a button not you pushing them to open and close. lol long live the imports.

Right, like there has never been a Japanese car that had a transmission failure or problems with the power accessories. I knew somebody who was so proud of their brand new Honda, and flaunted it for really moving up in the world, and after 3,000 miles the transmission went out and had to spend 2 weeks in the shop getting a replacement. Not to mention the number of Toyotas I've seen that after 3 years the interiors just plain look cheap and ratty like a low budget motel room, but when you start out boring there's really no place to go, but down.

The Olds I had went 241,000 mile before the tranny went out. Engine still pulled strong and everything else worked. Bought the car cheap and ran the snot out of it. Gotta love it.

My 94 Honda just hit 242,000 miles and has had no problems. I got the car when I was 18 with 204,000miles and a clean record. original engine and tranny. I am almost 20 now and I have beaten the car and had no problems. My only gripe is the power antenna. Keeps on working, but just slow and noisy. To me that is no justification to beat on the Japanese. I would rather walk than drive an American car again. If you can put 25,000 plus miles a year on a twelve year old car, that is amazing. She still goes 100 miles per hour.

All depends on the car and how its driven, I've had cars that have had over 300k miles on them and never had a problem and some at 50k have just crapped out, import and domestic both.
