2002 Oldsmobile Alero review from North America
"I'm saving up for a Toyota (no more American cars for me)"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Brakes had to be replaced, then later repaired again.
After driving it for a year and a half, the security feature began to shut down the ignition system - there was nothing in the manual, etc; I had to research the problem on-line (3 mechanics couldn't even figure it out), so I figured out that waiting 20 minutes with key 'on' resets it...
Now it won't start at all, it's not the starter, it's got good fuel pressure, plugs & battery are fine...
General comments?
I used to only buy American cars. I've learned the hard way (besides, most are assembled in Mexico now anyway).
