1999 Oldsmobile Alero GLS review from North America
"Good car, Bad brakes"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
There has been a problem with my brakes and rotors since 40,000 miles. They have been checked by three different service mechanics and the problem still persists. The rotors have been changed twice and the brake pads have been changed once. Now I am on my way to getting them serviced again.
Dome light display was loose when the car was purchased, but it was fixed with no problem.
Engine noise has grown louder since car has been purchased. It sounds like there is a problem with the intake. My guess is that it is the manifold.
General comments?
I really do like my Alero. I like the performance and the stylish look that it has.
My only regret is that I did not do more research on the car before I purchased it or I probably wouldn't have bought the car so quickly.

| If you can get past the problems, Alero has potential: MUCH better than the Achieva it replaced! |
