2002 Oldsmobile Alero GL2 review from North America
"An American legend is going by the wayside and that is ashame. Buy one while you can! I love it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Starter makes weird noises and sometimes fails to start, but dealer insists no problems.
AC needs charging at 40000. Initial lifter ticking at cold start - dealer insists no problems.
Rear cupholder falls off.
Windows exterior scratch badly - factory defect barley noticable.
Cheap brakes, expect to replace them at 35000 miles (which is a good idea for this car anyhow).
General comments?
This car rocks overall. It is a rocketship. Steering is tight all the way to 120 - maybe too tight. 4 wheel ABS and ETS are awesome additions for an American built car. Drove it 1500 miles straight and it performed awesome, very comfy ride and quiet. Overall, a great buy. My advice is to buy used with about 24000 miles and save 10k over new.
