".What else can GO WRONG?"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

FYI..I would like to add THIS PROBLEM to a review I already submitted (BUY FROM ANOTHER MANUFACTURER-92 words)

NEW PROBLEM. (31,410K),.My dashboard leather (inferior quality) is 'lifting, pulling away AND STIFF';cracking is about due. The dealer informed me the car is out-of-warranty and the extended warranty DOES NOT cover this problem. Dealer is trying to obtain an out-of warranty approval from GM. Anyone else with this problem? (So far all other problems I Have had, my NY dealer has resolved my issues.. excellent customer service and GOOD WORK.)

9/2/2003: Just Received Notification from my NY Olds dealer regarding DASHBOARD leather 'lifting'...GM Customer Service said "NO' for replacement/repair of dashboard problem... will contact GM myself, if no consideration given to me (directly) taking the problem to GM/BBB arbitration. Another website (www.carsurvey.org) also has recorded complaints by GM car owners (also giving GOOD info)..anyone else with this problem?

I am also experiencing the same problem with my dashboard. My car is almost always garaged, and during one hot week while working at a client site (no covered garage), my dash started peeling and my rearview mirror fell off.

I have had the same problem. In fact, I've had EVERY problem listed on this website with my 2000 Alero. What's even more concerning is that the dealers are having such a problem finding the problems. I think it's time for Oldsmobile to step up...

I'll echo the previous posting... I have had every problem listed on these reviews. I'll also share in the disappointment with Olds/GM not doing ANYTHING about it.

My 2000 Alero has the same dashboard problems, it seems during a very hot week the dash started peeling and rippling close to the front defrost vent right behing the drivers cluster panel and is steadily spreading across the rest of the dash, as well my rear view mirror fell off a few months back. Another problem that I constantly have is the tires always seem to lose air slowly, this is more prominent in the winter when I have to refill them on a weekly basis.

I have a 99 Alero with 80K. I just came from the dealership after sitting in the waiting area for four hours and the problem has not been resolved. Two days ago, the front end started making a loud buzzing noise in the front when accelerating. We were told that the problem was a wheel bearing so we had it replaced. I got in the car to drive home and the noise was still there. I have an appointment to take the car back tomorrow. Here are some other things that has happened to the car.

1.The alternator has been replaced twice.

2. The water pump has been replaced.

3.Seals/gaskets have been replaced due to leaks.

4. The motor to the passengers window was replaced.

5. The rear speakers began to make a humming noise when the car was turned off! My husband just clipped a wire to make it stop.

6. The driver's seat will not raise forward to allow a passenger to get into the back.

7. The power locks no longer work.

8. We had to replace the main belt in the motor.

9. The paint is peeling/bubbling in certain locations.

10. Two weeks ago, I had to have the car towed to the dealer because the car overheated. I was told that when the radiator was flushed two months ago that the air was not bled out prior to filling with fluid. I was told that there was no other problems diagnosed.

11. The car drives rough and we have had the car aligned twice in five months. We continue to have problems and were told that we have low profile tires so that's why the car drives rough.

12. The trunk has been known to spontaneously open when driving although this hasn't happened in about a year now.

13. The driver's side mirror became loose and now wobbles. We had it glued back, but it has worked its way loose again.

14. I just had front brakes put on. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

15. As soon as possible, I am getting a new car! I drove a Honda until it had 150K and only had to replace a battery, have normal tuneups/service, tires etc. We also have a Mitsubishi SUV with 100K and have only had to have it serviced twice since we purchased it!

After reading the other comments on the survey, I am very concerned for my safety!
