2000 Oldsmobile Alero GL review from North America
"Great car if you like to constantly have problems"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Car was bought brand new.
Numerous mechanical problems.
Brakes Had to be replaced at 6,000 miles.
And just about every 10,000 miles after that. A total of 6 times fixed (attempted to be fixed) by dealer.
I replaced the rotors with high performance rotors and pads at 50,000 miles myself. Problem has started again at 62,000 miles.
Power steering pump went during the first six months of ownership.
Both windows have broken, window fallen of track and inside door. Good thing car is not a 4 door.
Water fills up behind driver's side seat. Unknown where water gets in.
Water leaks into trunk.
The first 3 settings on the HVAC controls do not work. Have to put fan on high in order to work.
Engine coolant light has been coming on.
Have had to fill up radiator 3 times in past year. Don't know where it is going, no leaks on driveway.
General comments?
Car has good acceleration.
Smooth ride.
Looks great when clean.
Roomy interior and trunk for a coupe.
