2000 Oldsmobile Alero GL review from North America

My transmission died, had to get it rebuilt at 50000 miles.

Wheel bearings replaced at 50000 miles.

Have had my brake pads replaced 3 times and rotors twice in less than 2 years.

Check engine light comes on constantly.

Fluid level light comes on constantly.

Even with my new transmission my car shakes violently when trying to keep an idle speed.

Had to have ignition wires replaced at 55000.

Fuel pump died at 50000 miles.

Headliner light falls out and swings by the wires when you close a door.

Driver side window regulator had to be replaced after 53000 miles.

Passenger side window regulator needs to be replaced. Window cannot be rolled down. One night it wouldn't roll back up and I tried to pull it up and I accidentally pulled the glass out of the door.

The ONLY OK thing about this car is it has alright acceleration for the type of car it is.

Overall the inside looks cheap.

The car runs and was built cheap.

I think the outside is even ugly.

The worst thing about the transmission dying was that it died because Oldsmobile put a "tester transmission" in these cars to see how well they'd work, I don't enjoy being a guinea pig.

This car is basically crap, I would never buy Oldsmobile EVER again or American made cars period.

I'd advise everyone to stay far away from this car!
