2002 Oldsmobile Alero GL1 review from North America
"The Olds Alero is the worst vehcile I've ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
"Service Engine Soon", ABS, and Traction Control lights on - Wheel speed sensor $750.
Dome light always falling on my head.
Drink holder & acc Pwr plug always falling off.
Accessory Pwr always blowing fuses.
Brakes, Brakes, Brakes.
Finally and unexpectedly broke a timing chain @ 70mph on the freeway, which snapped the valves off in the cylinder head. Simple fix to the toon of $3800 worth of new engine on a car that books @ $6000.
General comments?
Real cozy car, but not built as durable as my radio control car even. Luckily for me the dealerships will give $1000 cold cash on trade. Yippee!! I knew I should've bought foreign. Live and learn I guess. Buy American? Not anymore, shame on me and shame on the manufacturers for putting me in this situation. Thank goodness for Honda & Toyota. 142,000 regretful, painful miles.
