I have replaced the rotors on this vehicle 3 times and the brake bads as well.
I can't believe how many Alero owners also had problems with the driver's window!
Same thing happened to me, the window fell in the door and the manufacturer would nor allow me to buy just the clip that broke, I had to purchase the whole window motor as well!
The reason why I came looking for this site is because of frustration, my Alero is being repaired once again as we speak!
This is the third time (mentioned above) that I am having all rotors and brakes pads replaced AND now there has also been an ongoing issue with the car wanting to stall all the time at red lights or even when the car is idling in park.
I was told by the mechanic this morning that there is a crack in the ignition coil and there could be an issue with the car's main computer because when he puts it on the diagnostic computer to see what is wrong... my car gives off no codes!!
So, once I find out what is REALLY going on with it, I will post another comment to this website.
You drove 90k miles in two years?? aside from rotors and the coil did anything else go wrong. Your mechanic should have told you that there are better aftermarket rotors that won't fail. This includes window regulators manifold gaskets and a few other probs with the Alero. although the engine/trans have held up for most.
