2002 Oldsmobile Alero GL2 review from North America
"Fast and roomy piece of junk on wheels"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Drivers side window leaked water and needed new motor and stopper assembly.
Brakes don't work when it's cold or wet outside, found out it's due to moisture in a vaccuum line and bad brake booster. Had to replace that.
At 70,000ish kms the brakepads wore out, rear calipers were ceased, rear rotors rusted through, front rotors missing bleeder screws. Had to replace brakepads/rotors/calipers on all 4.
Passenger side power window switch quit working.
Gas gauge has mind of it's own. After 5 minutes of driving drops to 0 and then goes back up when you turn the car off and turn it on again.
Windshield cracked at 81,000kms.
Blower motor making loud noises and needs to be replaced.
General comments?
This cars got some go to it. The v6 is great for driving through the mountains. There's enough cargo space for a small camping trip.
Cars great except for the reliability and maintenance costs.
I wouldn't recommend this car to anyone. It's a piece of junk.
