2000 Oldsmobile Alero GLS review from North America

Constant problem with the ABS system 7 wheel bearings on the front. I have had these replace numerous times and still have to have it done every 4 months (approx. it could be the parts I'm getting, but I have had two mechanics look at it and result in the same problem.

Fuel pump went when I was on vacation (no warning what so ever)

Water pump replaced.

Battery replaced 1 month after purchase.

Wrinkles in the dash material (probably related to heat/sun light)

Heater replaced twice.

Electrical system for the signals/hazard lights repaired first year vehicle was owned.

Drivers side window motor/assembly replaced. Rolled the window down one day (luckily on a dry summer day) it made a large bang noise and never went back up.

Brakes (obviously just the amount I drive)

I would say the biggest problem is related to the ABS braking system and the wheel bearings. The ABS sensor goes easily, it is permantly attached to the wheel bearing sothe bearing has to be replace at the same time. Both front wheels chronic problem... $600-700 every 4-6 months for this.

Was also not satisfied with service I received at the dealership. on one occasion (first problem withthe car I went to them., They shuttled me home called and said it would be over $2,000 to fix the problems. I asked to get picked up by the shuttle and they said I could not get my car until the following day. Finally I picked my car up that night and never returned.

Love the look of the car and it is great when it runs well... over all disappointment money pit.
