1995 Oldsmobile Aurora review from North America
"A Near Luxury High Performance Reliability Nightmare"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
63000 Miles: Brakes Shudder in an extreme fashion. Informed by dealer that it is a characteristic of the car.
92000 Miles: Transmission starts lurching between gears. $1000 Wiring Harness, $4800 Transmission, $1000 Computer, and 4 months later it was fixed.
94000 Miles: Air Conditioner Bearing goes out. $1200 to replace Air Condenser and some other Air conditioning parts.
General comments?
The Aurora is a very powerful car. You do not have to worry about acceleration or passing. It will.
The 95 Aurora has a terrible reliability history. I have found many "Survivors of Aurora" friends. We all spent too much money repairing it.
The seats are very comfortable and adjustable.
The cabin is VERY driver oriented. Almost like a cockpit.
The Aurora does not handle like a sports car. It just accelerates like one.
The Aurora requires extra oil and premium gasoline to run due to the high performance engine.
