1997 Oldsmobile Aurora review from North America

"I wish you luck if you set out to build an equal, I WISH YOU LUCK!"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Hmm What would I say what "has" gone wrong well it seems "nothing" ohh wait I guess I had to change plug wires "hemispherical head engine" or as mopar weirdos like to say "HEMI" only "TWICE" the motor a "HEMI" Will ever be? If you don't understand the spark plugs go in the holes in the valve covers and the wires tend to "arc" out in the valve covers when they get bad.

General comments?

This is a beautiful car and of course is not built on a tried and true GM platform like some of the 3800's and such, but definitely one of the most excellent cars that "any" manufacturer has ever put on the road I applaud oldsmobile for the effort and their generally high quality vehicle building style that has always set their cars apart from all vehicles built on the same platform. My 1996 Cutlass Supreme SL was a prime example of olds superiority over the other gm models as my dad went through 2 mid 100 hundred thousand +mile chevy lumina's or wait maybe it was 3 yeah I think it was in the time I had my cutlass (which I drove 200,000 before it got repoed) not that I have anything against chevys actually they are the last company I'd have something against. Just that the olds is unequalled. The Aurora is a Great Car and Deserves to be the flagship of such a fine company. My 98 Aurora which I am happy to say is going in the Shed Fall of 2004 to be forever preserved as a memory of what was once the finest company to ever manufacture a car on the face of this planet. I will be driving a $500 beater probably a grand am or a cavalier or if I'm lucky an S10 while my beautiful baby sits in the shed preserved perfectly. However, Like all true classics she will come out on those very special occasions either for a wash and wax or possibly that someone forgot what it was like to drive a MAN'S CAR.
