1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass supreme s review from North America
"Excellent luxurious car with lots of power, but labor hours are more than your average car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Sensors replaced (oil and ABS)
rear brakes seized(Must use E brake regularily)
timing belt
ignition module
Mechanics seem to be unfamiliar with this particular engine.
Stalling - Turned out to be caused by its preference for better quality gas.
Four different machanics diagnosed the oil leak wrong.(even the dealership) It turned out to be an oil shaft and was fixed for 200$, verses other recommendations of rear seal and oil pan. I only fixed the oil leak ONCE when it was proved to me what it was. I think more people have problems with mechanics than they do with the actual car and parts.
General comments?
An excellent car for comfort and power.
Good gas mileage considering large engine.
Very dependable at a good used price and will have good resale value.
Luxurious. All the bells and whistles including leather interior and a great stereo.
The car is great all around. The problem is finding a mechanic that is honest and knowledgable.
