1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale review from North America
"An outstanding car, all around"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Fuel pump, water pump, and three replacement A/C compressors.
Otherwise routine maintenance.
General comments?
Despite the temptation to upgrade to something newer, I continue driving the Oldsmobile, and it continues to meet my needs.
I reviewed this car about five years ago on this site, and thought I would update that review since I continue to own and drive the car.
Still performing superbly. Cruises the interstate like a champ, rides in perfect comfort. Hard to fault a car that you've driven for twenty six years, that has never once let you down.
Regardless of whether I cave in and buy that Toyota that I'm looking at, I'll continue to keep and drive the Oldsmobile. It just hit 100K, and I know it has many more miles left than I do, so I'm confident that, since I'm now retired, I can if I choose to do so drive this car for the rest of my life.
