General comments?

This Oldsmobile is a solid survivor.

A great family car with a nostalgic feel to it, very comfortable to drive and for passengers. (Even on long trips)

For a full size rear wheel drive car, gas mileage is not that bad.

We love our Delta 88, never want to part with her!

The 307 V8 performs very well, I drive her easy, but she moves when you need it.

A car you can really bond with!

Vinyl roof still in great shape.

Sharp looking car, get nice comments!

I had an '85 Delta, triple-dark blue (dark blue vinyl, paint, and interior). Got it with 140k, put 20,000 hard miles on it and it never once failed me or needed serious repair. I had to sell it for college, but I miss that car so bad.. I'm getting another someday.

I am the owner of the 1982 Delta 88 Royale Brougham. In reviewing my own entry of above, I realized I forgot to mention a couple of repairs that were done in the fall of 2003. First of all, thank-you to the person who commented about their blue 85 Delta 88. It's good to see other folks who enjoy these Oldsmobile's! Fall of '03 had some body work done. Repair of the rocker panels on both sides. Driver side was worse. Left off lowest chrome strip and had gravel guard put on. Work on the bottom corner of the 4 doors, driver's door needed it the most. Replaced both front fenders (came from an 84 Delta in a junkyard) Repair to rear wheel arch contours both sides as rust had propagated under the chrome strips. Replaced the rear bumper as original was drooping and had a rust-hole (bumper came from an 85 delta 2 door). After the bodywork the whole car was painted by the original paint code. The ceiling liner was hanging down I so had it replaced. Had four brand new tires put on which are still good after two years. Although I want to get a good pair of knobby snow tires for the rear as my all seasons don't offer good traction when the road is wet. Last winter the front end got whacked by a snow plow truck in the parking lot at work, so the front clip and bumper had to be replaced. The shop could not source an 82 grille so one from a different year was put on. Also, the two headlights and pots and bezels had to be replaced on the driver's side. The odometer is now at 150,000 and the car is still running great. I will address the U - pipe and Carb issues as soon as I can spare the bucks! End.

I had the U (crossover) pipe replaced at Midas on Oct. 27/05. It is nice and quiet again, and runs better as well. (150,000 km.)
