This car had 80,000 KM on it when purchased and in 2 days it needed a new alternater. At 91,000 KM the whole engine needed to be replaced due to a knock that was ignored by a GMC dealer shop and cause 2 cylinders to be destoyed by the flapping of pistons. The brakes have been done 3 times since we purchased this car (every 6 months) When the drums are finished you will have a great deal of vibration and difficulty stopping. The paint is coming off right to the metal (primer and all) with the smallest rock chip. The ignition had to be replaced because the security would no longer recognize the key so every time I drove my car it would die in the middle of the road and I would have to attempt to get the car started again. The signal light switch is located in the 4 way flashers so when the signal lights went this summer I had to replace the whole thing. The heater motor went in it so we had no heat, defrost or air conditioning, once replaced the heat isn't as good, AC isn't cold and the fan sweels all the time. The transmission is shot as I type this at 135,000 KM.
These cars are soo nice, but built like garbage. They are very expensive disposable vehicles. I also have a '91 Chev. Corsica that I love and has never left me stranded anywhere in 14 years.
I love my Intrigue, when it works. But when it decides to act up it is not fun at all. I pitty all of us who bought these cars and are now stuck with them!
I haven't had any problems with my Intrigue! Absolutely love it... the only part that needed replacing was the day light runner module (to turn headlights on at night)
Great, comfortable car!
