1977 Oldsmobile Omega review from North America
"Awesome car, not a day goes by that I don't miss it"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Picked up car from a relatives old barn in the sticks, so of course it required a tune up, new battery, drum brakes seized and various hoses replaced.
Once running - water pump went out first month I had it.
Gas gage never worked.
Thermostat.
Alternator.
General comments?
This was my first car at 16, and I have to say I loved it dearly. Never Red/Red color scheme was awesome.
The car had a lot of character, everyone loved it. Summer of 05' I lost this car in a highway collision (Some guy's mattresses in the back of his truck came undone and were thrown all over the highway literally 20 ft before my exit). Body was rebuild-able but the car caught fire and torched everything from the firewall back.
I've always been a Nova kid, and the Omega was its cousin, but I have to say, after owning/losing this car, I'm definitely in the market for another (if I should be so lucky!)
